April's
Jewels Coaster
In
honor of the wedding of April Dong and Julius Dichosa, August 4, 2001.
Materials:
Size H hook
Worsted weight cotton yarn.
A ball of sugar and cream should do at least 3, if not 4, coasters.
Instructions:
Chain 5, join w/ sl st to form ring.
Round 1: Ch 1, 8 sc in ring, join w/ sl st to first sc. (8 sc).
Round 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each sc around, join w/ sl st to first sc. (16 sc).
Round 3: Ch 1, sc in same st; ch 2, (sk next sc, sc in next sc, ch 2) 7 times, join w/ sl st to first sc. (8 ch-2 sps).
Chain 5, join w/ sl st to form ring.
Round 1: Ch 1, 8 sc in ring, join w/ sl st to first sc. (8 sc).
Round 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each sc around, join w/ sl st to first sc. (16 sc).
Round 3: Ch 1, sc in same st; ch 2, (sk next sc, sc in next sc, ch 2) 7 times, join w/ sl st to first sc. (8 ch-2 sps).
Round
4: Ch 1, sc in same st, in
next ch 2 sp work (hdc, ch 1, dc, ch
1, hdc). [sc in next sc, in next ch 2 sp work (hdc, ch 1, dc, ch 1,
hdc)]. Repeat from [ to ] 6 times MORE (7 times total). Join w/ sl st
to first sc.
Round 5: Ch 1, sc in same st, hdc in next hdc, dc in next ch 1 sp, ch 2, dc in next ch 1 sp, hdc in next hdc, [sc in next sc, hdc in next hdc, dc in next ch sp, ch 2, dc in next ch sp, hdc in next hdc]. Repeat from [ to ] 6 times MORE (7 total). Join w/ sl st to first sc.
Round 5: Ch 1, sc in same st, hdc in next hdc, dc in next ch 1 sp, ch 2, dc in next ch 1 sp, hdc in next hdc, [sc in next sc, hdc in next hdc, dc in next ch sp, ch 2, dc in next ch sp, hdc in next hdc]. Repeat from [ to ] 6 times MORE (7 total). Join w/ sl st to first sc.
Round 6: ch 1, sc in same st and in each st around, working 3 sc in each ch 2 sp. Join w/ sl st to first sc. Fasten and finish off.
